Default 940 spring rate

Does anyone know the spring rate(lbs per sq inch) of the front coils on a 940? Also the load rate? Thanks

I've seen people say stock springs are around 150-200...

ipd sport springs are like 200-250...

Load rating? You mean block height rating? That is just the total # at full compression. If you know the wire diameter and total height and spring rate, you can figure out the load when fully compressed.

You can check if you have access to a spring and compress it with your body weight. You can get an idea of what it's around like that. Or do some math...

Thanks for the info. By load rate I meant the weight required to compress from free length to installed length. I believe this is calculated by the weight of the corner of the car where the spring is? I wonder if any of the repair cd's have the actual stats on springs? Or who made them for Volvo? Sachs made the shocks and struts and they do sell springs in Europe but not sure if they did it for Volvo?

spring rate is measured as pounds of force per inch of compression.

very hard to calculate on the car as you'd have to take the suspension geometry into account, as the springs travel more or less distance than the wheels due to the leverage effect of the suspension arms.

Maybe that's why I can't find it anywhere on the internet - top secret?
