940 Turbo, Automatic gear tranmission oil check?
What is the exact way of checking the automatic gear transmission oil. The engine should be in the starting mode... And at what level the dip stick should show specially when the engine is worm.
There are two levels shown on the dipstic, MIN / Max, with two different temp levels also
I dont have the user manual also. Pl help, as i dont want the gear transmission to be over filled

RE: 940 Turbo, Automatic gear tranmission oil check?
You need to start the car and drive it a mile or 2. Then check the fluid.Max is max level hot Min is max low level cold.
Some dipsticks have a Min and a Max on both sides one for cold and the other for hot.
If you remove the drain plug and let it drain then fill it Holds 3 quarts.
The total system should be like 12 but that is only if you fluch it.
Sorry I only know the quarts and to Lazy to find and convert.

So you mean to say that after driving the car for a mile or 2, the engine should be in the starting mode and the gear lever should be at the "P" position. While we are checking the level of the oil through the dipstick it should register at the MAX level.
Correct me if i am wrong any where pl....
