Default 940 Turbo Touring

hi all!
Just brought a 940 turbo touring and picking it up on monday! new member introduction in that subforum. Have a few questions though

1/ Is a leaking sunroof a common problem? it does not leak sitting there, but when you turn right, water drips/streams down. Does not happen any other time. Sunroof winder handle and trim piece has come off, but roof is completely closed.

2/ Is the suspension independant in the rear or solid? i know of some springs for sale to drop the car 40mm but aparently only suitable for solid rear axle'd cars. Forgot to check that out when i looked at the car before buying

3/ Any thing you would reccomend to have a look at for a first time Volvo buyer?

4/ Bit of an odd question, but is calling the car a 940 Turbo Touring the right thing to call it? or Estate the commonly used word on Volvo forums? Coming from a few BMW forums where we call them tourings is where i picked it up from.

5/ Anyone from New Zealand on this forum??

Thanks all! Andy

1. Leaking sunroofs are common but easy to fix-it's the drainage holes that are usually plugged and need to be cleaned.
2. Your car is probably solid axle-just take a look.
3. Nothing special, the 'usual': check/change fluids, esp. trans, belts, (timing), hoses, tire wear/pressure, tighten loose screws in the interior...
4. In the US, it's a "wagon"...

1/ A wire brush pushed down the drainage holes? thats what we do on our Bimmers to clear them out
2/ Will do. just dont pick up the car till monday and need to know asap
3/ Timing belt simple DIY on this car? its the 2.3 Turbo.. are they SOHC or DOHC? (i do know how to check, not a car noob, i just dont have the car here yet to look myself, and done t/belts on other cars so should be easy right?). Other fluids were done inside last few months, will sus the rest of that list when i get the car

1. Yes, simple as that...
2. I'd think solid axle... hard to tell like this, what with this being a New Zealand car...
3. Simple belt, SOHC, non interference, so I just check them first, if they look good, I don't them right away. If they break, no damage.
