Default 960 Front speed sensor

My speedo is acting up and I am looking at replacing the speed sensor. I went to a parts house website and I found what I need, the rear speed sensor on the differential. But they also show a front speed sensor. it shows it complete with wire harness.
Is there actually two different speed sensors for this car? A front and rear?
Or is the front speed sensor just a complete speed sensor with the harness?
It doesn`t give me any info. on the differance. Any body knopw anything about this?

Thanks

The speed sensor in the rear differential controls your speedometer and rear abs.

The front speed sensors your referring to are for the front abs.

Is your abs light in the dash on ? (with engine running)

Does your speedo fluctuate up and down?

Sticks in one spot,or sometimes not work at all?

I used to have a 960 some years ago,I had to replace the speedometer head twice.

Thanks for the replies. Turbo, you gave me the info. I needed.
I swapped rear speed sensors form my 960 to my 745 Turbo. The 745 had a newer sensor on it. So far so good. My wife has the 745 and is out of town, so I don`t know if it is acting up or not at this time. But it appears to be OK now. I am hoping the sensor I switched to the 745 acts up, that way I know it is a faulty sensor.
The speedo would hit 30 mph and then drop to zero. When that happened the shift up lite on the dash would blink and the W,S,E, switch near the shift would blink between two modes back and forth. The tranny would then slip and once I got slowed down the speedo would pick up again and I could go.

Well I drove the car yesterday with no problems. Drove it today and it is acting up again. Speedo goes to zero the car is like it is in neutral. Drop off the gas and let the speed drop and it will hook up with the tranny again and away I go. It might do it again or it might not. But what I did notice is that when the speedo is going down or near zero I can rev the motor and the speedo will rise just like the tach. Anybody have any idea what that is all about?

I'm kinda curious about the speed sensor difference between the front and the rear before. But in this thread, I was given an idea about all of it's differences. I can say that this thread gave me a new learning about it.
