I need to replace the ABS front speed sensor on my 1991 240. I inadvertently damaged it in the process of removing the strut assembly. The aftermarket part price ranges from $250 to $300. So, looking for a cheaper alternative, I noticed it looks the same as the 740 sensor except for the wire harness connector. The 740 sensor is also about $100 cheaper.
Can someone tell me if the 740 sensor can be used if I cut wire connector and splice in the 240 connector?

You can get that part used for nothing. Barring that, the 740 should be just fine...
