AC Compressor Won't Kick In

AC Compressor Won't Kick In
Recently checked the system vacuum, and by-passed the car electrical system by tapping into the compressor directly, good flow of cold air came out the vents and system is fully charged. Original F-12. Any ideas as to what could be causing the compressor not to turn on. Faulty relay? Any suggestions welcome.
