AC water coming from Passenger side, 940 turbo, 1998 model
As the humidty is on the peak in my region, so the car's Ac usually throw more water on the ground. Well my subject car is also doing the same but some of the water deposits are also coming on the passenger side carpet, which will eventually destroy the carpet as well as the floor of the car.
I have given air pressure through the AC pipe hanging near the firewall, thinking that if there is any dirt accumalation should be washed away. The water flow has now improved. But still i find a substantial amount of water being droped from the passenger side dash board and finally coming to the carpet.
Any suggestions as how to stop this

There should be some kind of drain hose which allows the condensation water to drain from the evaporator housing directly inside. If its getting on the floor inside, that drain has become loose or blocked. That will cause the water to drip down on the carpet. With volvo's I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure they are the same way in that department. Remove the hose and use something small in diameter to clean out all the crap. Don't shove it too far up in there though, be gentle.

If I remember correctly the drain comes out the firewall on the right side of the car. There is no hose it comes out of the case itself.
The AC drain is near the firewall on the passenger side. Water is coming out of it, even then some of the water drops are coming directly on the passenger side carpet from the dash side. Secondly i have also felt that when i open the glove box with the AC on, the iron plates in the glove box are ice cold and they are also having some water deposits, like we do observe when decondensation takes place.
Maybe if i open up the dash under the glove box with the AC running, i might get some clue.....

So what do you suggest. Should i open the dash from the passenger side, under the glove box? Once i open it, any idea as how to start searching for the water deposits leaking from the box. Is the AC box is visible once we remove the dash cover under the glove box?
You should be able to remove the lower dash panel and glovebox assembly and have a big opening to look for the leak.Remove those parts then let the car run with the A/C on and look for the leak.
Anyone who could help me in telling as how to open the glove box, as i have to check the AC water coming in the passenger side carpet area.
Thanking in advance

Tec you mean the glove box lock (Latch?) Everything is perfectly fine. In your second last mail you had instructed to open up the glove box then only one can have an excess to the AC fitting comartment with special reference to the AC cooling box which might had lost its glue or what evere comes up.
I just needed the step wise info as how to open up the glove box with all its screws and stuff around it. Its my fault i had asked the question in the wrong way by saying ' How to open up the glove box"

Open the door and look for Screws. They might be under a cover on the outside edge in the middle. There should also be 2 nuts down towards the bottom of the dash. Once you remove the screws it should slide out and allow access to look at the drain.
Look for the bottom case to go foward to the firewall and you can see where it goes through. Alot of times it woll crack where it goes through.
