The passenger side mirror is not moving up once it is moved to right / left or down position. It shows lot of hesitation in coming up. may be there is some rust deposits in the driver side door panel switch which moves the mirror in all the four directions.

To repeat the mirror is not only coming up once it is moved for right or left positions. Do you think i should spray some wd-40 on the switch which controls the mirror. Or if the need arises to open up the switch, what is the procedure for opening it.

Any help will be highly appreciated

 

Does the switch feel stuck or difficult to move in one direction more than another? If not, I'd look at the motor in the mirror housing. I've seen those get clogged with all sorts of road crap. Take a look behind the mirror and let us know what you find. Good luck!

That worked like a magic. On your guidline had throughly inspected the side mirror with a search light by putting it to its maximum down position. Would you beleive there were some dry leaves which were not allowing the mirror to go to its upwards position.

I wanted to say thanks for your help as my mechanic was planning to open the door panel and he was of the opnion that the switch was the main culprit.
