Default All dashboard lights came on, car still runs.

1992 240 sedan 5spd. The following dash lights just came on and the car still starts, runs and sounds fine: break failure light, parking break light, battery light, and the service light as well as the ABS light, however, the ABS has fickered on and off since I bought the car one year ago. 120k miles on car.

ty,
ML

I would measure the battery while it's running to make sure its charging. You should see at least 13.5VDC.

ABS circuits typically need to see and honest 12 to 12.5 volts constantly or they set a fault code. A failing alternator or poor connections could play into that scenario. I don't think your instrument lights other than the charge light should illuminate from a failure in the charging circuit. Often, that's a symptom of failing/failed contacts in the electrical connector of the actual ignition switch which attaches to the back side of the ignition switch. Next time, try barely moving the key one direction and the other to see if you can get the lights to go out.

I went out last night and tried starting my 240 up and she tried to crank over, but after a few cranks she died out and wouldn't start. the battery seemed to fine b/c the lights were strong, and since I live on a hill I bump started her and she drove fine until I had to come to a stop, and then she would die on me. Thankfully I was still on a hill and bumped her again and came home.

thanks everybody,
ML
