WOW- It's also pretty cool to see people's reaction when hearing the miles or seeing the odometer!

I have a 1987 740 Turbo Wagon with 305000, but the odometer stops working after about 100 miles so it's actually closer to 350000.

Wow! My 940 just turned 200k and I'm having issues with stalling. See Going Going Gone - same forum. I was thinking its time to move on but it runs absolutely great when it runs great!!! There is so much new - well - you know the story...

Cheers,

M

Just bought a 86' 240 DL Wagon with 277XXX on the clock. For a car that I expected to use for a short time until my Rover got back on the road, I thought 600 bucks was a good buy. Apparently it was a great buy. Given the way the car runs and drives right now, and hearing how many miles all of you have on yours, I imagine Ill have this thing sitting in my driveway for a long time to come.

I have a 1979 244DL With 334,800 miles on the original engine and transmission (B21F + M-46) Along the way, I have only had minor issues-slight overheat here, alternator there, cap and rotor every few months. Best car ever built! Mine has become a legend. In high school, a bunch of my friends made up a song and dance about him, and named him Moose due to the Dave Barton prancing moose decals he had on him. Heres the song:

Original owner '86 wagon. Only 121k mi. Just about broke in. SoCal, always garaged, no rust. I'm an old guy so the car will probably outlast me.

I think I might have the most well-traveled Volvo here, But I'm not sure by how much, but I have service receipts dating back to 1980 (the car was built in 1975) and it hit 200,000 in 1983. Shortly after that around 205,800 the odometer broke for the first time, I can only assume being as the same number was listed under "mileage" on every receipt until 1988 when the figure suddenly jumped down to 10,000. I'm guessing that's when the owner replaced the speedometer. The odometer broke again at 271,000 in 1998 and wasn't replaced until I bought the car in 2008. So that's 465,000 in the twenty combined years for which it had a working odometer, plus whatever it racked up in the fifteen years in which it had no ticking odometer.

At the moment however it's broken, and probably about to be towed where it is now, but if I have two more days I can fix it. I already found a new driveshaft.

My roommate's 1978 Volvo 245 is at 338800 if it's still on its original odometer, which it probably isn't.
