My 1992 940 sedan trunk will not open because my back pack strap is caught in the lock. I can see it through the little opening in the back seat and I tried to pull it out but it is stuck..
What I read so far has been for the S series or XC Volvos and doesn't seem to apply to my 940 sedan. Any suggestions will be greatly appreaciated. Thank you in advance.

 

I'd try and reach in there through that pass through opening with a long tool that can cut or pull that strap. You'd have to improvise making something that would work. Taking the back rest of the seat out will give you extra room, you may need to do that. You tried both positions on the rear lock I presume? Also, try pushing down on the trunk lid as you work the mechanism when you are trying to open it.

 

Thank you, I was able to push down on the trunk and I checked to make sure the key was engaged. And the trunk came up.
