belts 86 740 turbo wagon
Buying all new belts tomorrow. I noticed the a/c and alternator have double groove pulleys. The crank is three groves. Right now the a/c doesn't have a belt, one belt goes around the fan and p/s, the other belt around the fan and alternator. Looks like the rear groove is for the fan and p/s. Are there suppose to be two belts going around the front two crank grooves, fan, alternator and a/c?
I think someone might have a wrong belt on there or something.
I believe one goes to the crank water pump and alt
one power steering to crank
Then the A/C to crank.
Some of the cars have 2 alt. belts. others have one.

Ok....thanks. I wasn't sure because I didn't take them off. I thought maybe someone used shorter belts when they decided to disconnect the a/c compressor. So even though the a/c compressor and alternator have double groove pulleys, they only use one belt each?
The A/C uses one But sometimes the steering is run off the A/C to. Then 2 would be used.
But I forget exactly.
See to many cars all day long.
Some run the steering off the A/C. Then the Alt. uses 2 belts.
If the steering isn't run off the A/C the Alt. would use 1 belt.
Sorry maybe someone else reading this post might have the same car and be able to look at their's and let you know.
