Best way to test FPR??
1990 740 GL *Regina* 291,500 miles
I was wondering if there is a simple, but accurate way to test for a good/bad Fuel Pressure Regulator.
I read that you can take the hose off the front and the idle should increase and if not it is bad.
However, it seems like has little tiny surge but not much, should it increase to 1200 and stay when hoses is removed or just surge way up then back down?
Thanks in advance

RE: Best way to test FPR??
Thanks for the response, no there is no fuel in the vacuum hose.
I'm kinda new at this stuff, if i were to get a Fuel pressure guage would it be self explanitory, or does it hook between one of the hoses and the fpr?

Also, I don't know if FPR have an average life span, but I'm pretty certain this one is original with 291.5k miles on it. As well as when I changed the flame trap, which was brass, but may have been cleaned since my engine has no leaks.
One other question, I've seen some sites say their FPR covers 80s to like 92, also seen on ipd bosch only, then on fcpgroton that you can find one with regina in the name too, so I'm thinking i have to have regina-unless these piece does not matter which fuel system you have, which is like double the price. [ifI need one]
Thanks again for all the help
