Default Block heater install on 940

Hello, New to the forum but hoping I could get some help. I was planning on putting a block heater in my 95 940 non turbo. The instructions say to install in the freeze plug on the right side of the engine. This is very hard to get to and involves removing the exhaust manifold. (I'm invisioning broken bolts and a lot of time & effort.) Could I install the heater on the left side(see picture) in one of those freeze plugs? Is there physically enough room for the heater element to fit, and is there any drawback? I understand it may not heat as efficently but I really want to avoid the right side of the engine.
Thank you
