Default Blocked pcv system

Recently did a complete overhaul on the pcv system, replaced everything but the drain that goes down to the oil pan. I bought fcp euros kit and even replaced the hose that runs to the throttle bottle. Problem is that it didn’t fix the problem. Using the glove trick on the oil filler hole and it still fully inflates the glove. Any ideas on what it could be? Could it really just be the drain hose?

It's a big job, but it's possible you will have to replace that pesky pipe that goes into the oil pan. No fun to do without a lift, but can be done with jackstands. Installing the new pan gasket while on your back isn't easy.

Of course it's hard to say for certain without being there.

Your problem could also be with your intake manifold gasket. Let the car idle and spray water all around it. If it idles better when you spray the manifold gasket, that could be your problem. Or, a vacuum leak anywhere in the system could be the culprit.

did you also check to see if the ports in the block are clear? not all that uncommon for those to clog in an 850 where they need to be rodded out so I suspect you may have the same issue. Once you have the pan off you can really go to town and clean the lower end ports etc then you'll be good for another 100-200K miles :-)

Is removing the pan on a 240 a hard job? I’ve heard that it can be difficult, does the steering rack not have to removed?

The problem on the 240 is the front suspension cross-member is in the way of removing the oil pan. I have heard of people removing the pan by raising the engine while still in the car but I have never tried it. I pulled the engine.

Have removed many a 240 oil pan with the engine in the car. The cars were always on a lift so I probably jacked the engine up from the bell-housing after undoing the engine mounts to get enough clearance. The oil pick up gets caught on the baffle in the pan - but it comes off fairly easily. The rack is not in the way from what I remember.

As far as the drain hose that goes to the bottom of the pan from the oil separator - I've never replaced one - never had the need to. But every time I have seen one with the pan off - they are no longer soft rubber, they are very stiff. You will have to break it up to get it out.

Your glove test - the glove is inflating due to blow by - compression leaking past the piston rings. Have you done a leak down test to determine approximately how much compression is leaking past the piston rings?

Have you removed the oil separator and blown into the drain hose to see if it's clear? Did you clear the carbon out of the metered orifice on the intake manifold with a small drill bit? (the small vacuum hose on the flame shield holder goes to it)
