i have a 88 740GLE there is voltage change at the brake switch but no voltage at the rear light assembly, i tried tracing the wires but there is no room with out taking the whole darn thing apart. any one ever hear of this problem??

 

Remove the bulb failure relay (Big red round thing) from the fuse box open it up and inspect the solder joints really really good I bet you will find atleast one bad.

 

i got it out it looks fine...what are the sholder joints??

 

Where the resistors meet the circuit board. The little silver dot looking things.
