I purchased an 82' 242, that was a daily 3 years ago and then sat. I have been told that the Kjet is a booger to bring back up. I am in the process of cleaning out the tank right now, geting a new in tank pump and filter, what else should I focus on and be ready for right now?

I would say you are on the right track. Get the fuel system in order and then do a full tune up and go from there. I'm in the process of doing the exact same thing on a 1990 240 DL for my grandson.

 

Go here https://ozvolvo.org/archive. Everything is Bosch mechanical and old school electrical. No software, no computer to boot up.

 

another good resource is volvotips.com. Also check out davebarton.com (parts and more great content). I'd also pay attention to possible vacuum leaks - hoses, boots, injector seals, ICV etc.
