Default Bulb Fail Relay...

Ok, i dont think the other post was getting any attention because it was a little old. So here is the update. After messing around with my break lights that stoped working a week ago, i got a brand new bulb fail relay and put it in today. Still i only had the passenger side break light go on when i pressed the break. I fiddled with the dirver side bulb and replaced it and there it went! It went right on. Then i got off the break, and presded it again just to check and the same driver side break light dident go on. Now im at this point...the passenger side break light goes on no problem, but it seems that when i first press the break the driver side wont go on, and ill get that little bulb out warning light on the dash, but if i release the break and press again or a few times or till that light is out, the driver break light works! So im kinda stumped. No bulbs burnt out i cleaned the connections hmmm? Could it be a short somewhere? I dont know guys. Any ideas? Thanks!

Ok, just to add...i made a switch with the dirver and passenger side lighting units and it apears that the only problem is that one socket on the drivers side unit, it does look a little ragged. I think this because when i switched the right and left, i got the break lights to work fine. Im going to clean it the best i can and see what happens.

Default RE: Bulb Fail Relay...

Update...after really looking at the bulb unit, i saw that the little tab that the bulb presses down on was looser then any other one...so i popped off one side of that hard metal and saw that it was very loose and i was thinking that maybe when the bulb was being pressed down by me it was making contact but when i let go it wasent. So i took a bit of tin-foil and made it into a nice small thick cube and wedged it in between the end of the tab from the socket and the metal unit. I dont think i explaned this well, but maybe if i get some pics i can show you. Ill be leaving for work in a few so ill really test it out tonight and see if i have fixed this nagging problem. So far so good.
