Should be black! or color match with the body color.

Im pretty sure when brand new it was all black. With age and weather etc... these bumpers fade, but if you get scotch pads from a food store or somthing you can buff the gray-ish out. It is somewhat of a quick fix and if you keep it up your bumpers will look pretty good, not the orginal black but better than a faded grey. Hope that helps. P.s. Those scotch pads are about 2 bucks.

Use forever black to give the black look back permanent! that is why I'm going to do for my side trims.

Yes your bumpers look great. Just one question. When you used forever black did you remove the bumpers from the car or were you jsut very carefull? Thanks a lot.

I did not take the bumpers off. I used the sponge applicator that came with the product for the big areas being careful not to get on the paint. I used a small artist brush (very small pointed tip) for those areas near the body and paint. Some tips I learned:

Do not do this in direct sunlight ( in the garage with plenty of light)

Make sure to paint to the wet area (just like house painting)

Keep on hand some mineral spirits in case you get to the paint by mistake

Use blue masking tape to tape off large areas so you dont get to the paint

Make sure to brush out all of the bubble and streaks

I took me two coats to get the look I wanted as some parts of the trim will just soak up this stuff.

I dont think that I missed anything, but take our time and make sure to have some plactic sheeting laying out where you are working as this stuff sometimes will drip from the sponge appricator and when it hits the garage floor...forget it. The plastic is cheap and it is what DIY'er used when painting inside.
