Default Camshaft - injection pump linkage (D24 engine)

Hi all,

I need help :

Restarting the engine after a head gasket change, timing belt is ok but engine has terrible "hiccups".
I've been obvioulsy messing in setting the marks on the camshaft pulley and the one on the pump.

Could anyone help me solve this issue ?

Of course I can give more details and even post pictures, if asked.

Many thanks in advance,

Default Setting pump timing solution

So here is what I did just in case it can help.

Lifted rear of the car, 4th gear set, turned rear wheels by hand, until :

Crankshaft set to 0 position

Carves on pump mountings - pump body and "V" mark on pulley "more or less" aligned

Released bolt #1 (13mm)

Relseased bolt #2 (13mm)

Released bolt #3 (this one is facing front)

And relased last Allen 6mm screw (tricky need extension)

Then I started the engine ad moved the pump on its mountings until I coul hear a nice idle then fastened #1,#2, etc.

Smooth acceleration, and what I'm REALLY happy with is : no more white smoke at ignition !

It's a gaugeless method that worked for me.
