Can I put a 1992 Volvo 240 Fuel Pump in a 1990 Volvo 740 Turbo?
So I'm trying to get a Bosch fuel pump for my 1990 Volvo 740 Turbo, preferably off FCP Euro, but they only have a $200 genuine Volvo part. So I did a little looking around and noticed one RockAuto they're selling a fuel pump for my car that looks just like the one I have for my Volvo 240. To give you an idea, the Volvo Fuel Pump In-Line - Bosch 69593 is for the Volvo 240 while there's a Volvo Fuel Pump In-Line - Bosch 69594 for the Volvo 740 Turbo. They look IDENTICAL. Any chance I can get away with putting the 240 pump on the 740?
Thanks,
Noah

the number he gave for the 740 turbo pump is this one
Yeah man you ll be fine! As long as the car aint boosted up 350 horsepower, the pump will be fine we did it before many times!
fyi i do have several inline Oem pumps available also!!
Oss Goldenblock 2 million miles plus!!!

a 740T wagon can suck down 8MPG or worse doing heavy throttle launches or uphills in middle RPMs. at 60MPH, thats a pint a minute, and it has to deliver that while maintaining the fuel pressure of manifold+42 PSI, where manifold can be ~8 PSI above ambient due to boost, so that means 50 PSI or so. a N/A B230F will never drop below about 15 MPG, and wide open throttle is 0 psi 'vacuum', so the max fuel pressure is 42 psi
the turbo pump is capable of significantly higher volumes than the NA pump. That's why they have two models.

well, you could probably drive a turbo like a little old lady, never using full throttle or full boost, and get away with a regular pump... but if you find yourself at the edges, fuel starvation leads to lean mix leads to excessive combustion temperatures leads to burned valves and pistons
