Default Car Dies after fully warmed up

Hi:

This '87 740 (auto tranny) occassionally stalls out after it has fully warmed up and has been driven for a while. It happens randomly and the only symptom directly prior to stalling is a sluggish/weak engine.

I'm not too familiar with this car, so any ideas would be appreciated.

Does the car's computer use a relay for power? If so, do they go bad?
What about engine temperature sensors?

Thanks!

A couple of things to look at. The fuel pump relay located in the Back of the fuse box. Big white double looking relay.

The engine speed sensor located in the back of the engine. Like the top where the engine and trans. meet.
If the outside sheilding is missing replace it.

Then I would clean the throttle body and Idle motor.
