Default Catalytic converter needs replacement

Hi, all. The cat converter in my '91 740 turbo has a fairly large chunk taken out of the top of it. The metal has been eaten away by rust and the insulation under it is gone. I have been looking for a replacement cat converter but had the thought if just cutting it out and straight piping it. Does anyone know if there is a place where I can get a straight pipe kit, or do I have to make my own out what I have?

make your own. it will be cheap with some band clamps, and a piece of pipe.
Stock exhaust pipe should be 2.5" o.d. check it out first.
Sounds like the pipe is rusted, so welding is not going to work.

Not a big deal . I just went to an Autozone and picked up a new one. Cost around $100
