Chemical Odor in Cabin after Long Drive
A couple days ago, we were driving our 1995 940 for about an 40 minutes and a strong chemical odor filled the cabin. We were running the A/C and the smell seemed to be coming from the vents. The smellis not gasoline or exhaust, nor is it a sweet smell like that of coolant. We opened the hood and the only dripping we saw was from the a/c area. We just moved to a new city and have no mechanic, so we drove toa local volvo specialist, they looked under the hood and said that dripping was normal, the odor also seemed to dissappear. We figured it must've been something from the street we were smelling, but yesterday, we took a long drive and near the end the odor returned near the end of our trip. The coolant levels are not going down, so it doesn't appear to be a coolant issue. Any ideas?
940 don't have cabin filters. "Chemical odor" is vague but it could be something electrical burning as a worse case scenario. I once suffered with a 940 turn signal which would smoke a little now and then...
