Chime sounds Continously
I am working on a 1991 240 Wagon project car out of an estate. The deceased PO left no history on the car...
Situation and Question:
The warning chimes come on and run continuously when the car is started and they continue sounding after the car has been driven for a while. It's very annoying. Is there a way to disconnect the chime "feature" that will still allow the car to operate?
The seat belt harnesses are a mess and I'm not sure they are correctly connected. The doors are all securely closed too.
Please advise,
Pete

I'll pull out the relay... You didn't say if pulling the relay "killed" anything else... We'll see. I'll also tape up any bare wires and tape the relay to the harness so it doesn't get lost. Later I'll want to probably solve the issue.
Per the Green Book... it's # 12 fuse, but that also controls a bunch of other stuff.... Pwr windows, AC, Heated Rear Window and so on...

Amputated the chimes.... Ahhhh!!!!
It was located above the steering column almost at the firewall. It was very difficult to remove. I think I have average size hands, but it was a struggle. If I had not succeeded, I would have loosened up the plastic panel that shields the accelerator. In my case it was a blue module. I'll see if it affected anything other than lowering my annoyance factor.
