Just had my clutch replaced on my 89 244. It was running perfectly before the clutch replacement. Now it rattling under load like I'm going up a rolling coaster, idle is so low acts as if it's on the verge of stalling, but then after getting warmed up it surges to around 2-3 RPMs at idle. Also, feel slight loss of power.

Additionally, the gear shift/shaft feels hot to the touch to the point it almost burnt my fingers when I went to shift into reverse. The rubber boot is also hot and the floor around it.

#^%#$#@ mechanic told me, "don't use cheap Arco gas." I've been using the same dang gas for years. It was not doing ANY of this before I took it to the shop for the clutch. In fact, I had put in some Sea Foam a month ago and she was purring.

Please help.
