Default Coilovers for 1990 Volvo 240 dl

We're looking for coilovers for my 1990 240 so we can make room in the wheel well for wider wheels. The problem is I can't find a pair of 2 at all, they all come in a set of 4 and are over $500. Id like to spend only about $200-300. Any ideas on some cheap(er) coilovers? The backs got a straight axel so we're going to buy springs and match the ride height. Anything will help.

Contact Kaplhenke Racing. He offers everything from complete bolt-on sets to pieces where you can build you own coilovers.

I found Landrum Performance Springs to be a good source of custom length and spring rate coils, but they are a true 5" diameter spring and do not taper down on the bottom end to accommodate the OEM spring retailer. You would have to buy or adapt some sort of plate for them. I went with Kaplhenke's adjustable rear coils mounts that were already designed for a full 5" spring, but I am lifting my car.

Right 😂😂, I'm willing to spend a little more but I can't imagine 2 coilovers will cost $900. Is there a way to modify the original strut tower to make the spring smaller in diameter?
