I have a 93 240 and just started having a weird problem. On a cold engine car starts up fine, idle is a little bit choppy but doesn't sound like its going to stall, but if I give it gas it stalls immediately. After it warms up it runs fine, if I let the engine warm up for 10 minutes before driving I have no issue. Any suggestions? Thanks!

 

Same thing on my 240DL -- normal cold start then engine stalls under mild throttle, after thorough warm up the engine runs normally.

Any suggestions?

 

I Read there is a thermo time switch for cold start systems only goes up to 1985. However i have a 86 volvo 240
