Default dash clock stops working intermittently

On my 1986 Volvo 240DL the dashboard clock (see image below) appears to stop working intermittently.

I say "appears" because I've never actually caught it not working but around 1-2 times a month I'll get in the car and it'll be a bunch of hours behind. I adjust it and forget about it and then boom it seems to happen again a few weeks later.

I've replaced the entire cluster in the past, to get a working odometer, and have removed and reinstalled it many times when swapping out all of the bulbs so I know all of the cabling is attached correctly.

Any ideas? Tx!

Sure - it's a bad 42 year old clock - replace it with the tachometer that fits there.

It had the tachometer in it originally, which I still have, but I actually prefer the clock... I was suspecting it is going bad as well...

Usually they last forever. I have one from a '93 I replaced with a tach.
