Definitive Bleed Order for ABS cars and troubleshooting
Hey there!
I have a 1991 240 wagon equipped with ABS, which is long overdue for a brake service, and am unable to find a definitive bleed ordering for the wheels. As I understand each caliper only have one bleed screw/valve.
From googling I have found conflicting information: Some say I should bleed furthest away from the ABS box / pump and then move closer, ie. Right Rear (RR), Left Rear (LR), Right Front (RF), and finally Left Front (LF).
This link on turbobricks says LR, RR, LF, RF.
What is the correct ordering?
Furthermore, I am almost certain that something in the ABS circuit has failed as I have not experienced the shaking brake pedal, even when driving on solid ice. My car is not equipped with the diagnostics system for the ABS. The ABS box / pump is not leaking as far as I can see. Where should I start troubleshooting? I heard that some cars have the ABS computer under the front seat and there is a fuse somewhere...
