Well Im in a bit of a ****ing pickle. I was driving home from the local grocery store and it was solid icy snow, aka stupidly slick. As I was turning I goosed it a little to make the end slip out (extremely harmless) and the car came to a screetching halt. At first I thought I hit the curb but I couldnt go forward, and I could go back about 3 feet before the tire locked up. So basically I could go forward or backwards about 3 feet. No farther. Its not a slight resistance either, a flatbed came to get me and the tires were locked the whole way up.
Indications it may be the diff is this. The car has an autolocker on it and the other day I was stuck in my parking spot (lack of plowing) so I was spinning the tires and aparantly since the autolocker wont engage if the tires are about ~15ish or more I was spinning one tire excessively and heard a kinda grinding noise. So I let off of the gas that sec and gently hit the brake.
So yeah this sucks. Any clues?
oh yeah car specs
92 volvo 740 wagon, non turbo. I have the heavy duty axle with the autolocker.
Also how much would this cost roughly?
