Default Door interchange

Ugh, spending all this time trying to get it running and someone creams her drivers door in! Will the door from a 94 940 wagon fit a 93 940 sedan? Also found a 95 940 sedan as well. Will either of those work?

any late 7 and any 940 and 960 up to 1994 should all be identical. I'd pick the one which is closest to the color of the car being repaired its easy to transplant the interior panel, and if you have to paint it to match, having the original door color close to the final color will make that job much easier.

Only door in decent shape was a 95 940 and it did fit. Figured I could take it back if it didn't. So now she has a dark blue door on a gold car. At least it is drivable again! Sort of.

when you have the time and patience, pull that blue door back up, strip everything from it, lightly sand the blue paint, primer, and paint it it with 2-3 coats of gold and a clear coat, and it won't look quite as bad. or bring the door to a body shop for the painting, and ti might look near original, especially if they can colorimeter a sample of the car to match. if you've done the prep work, that paint job will be a LOT cheaper than if you had the whole thing done in the body shop.
