Default ECT coolant temperature sensor

I just wanted to clarify for anyone who's testing their coolant temperature sensor that your test probes from your meter don't go to the two male prongs but go to one prong and the brass body. So test ohms between one prong and the sensor body and then between the other prong and the brass sensor body. I read the Bentley manual 10 times and it never clicked until I read on swedish bricks that this sensor actually has two sensors in one unit, that's why you want to test both prongs or sensors.

yeah, one sensor goes to the ICU, the other to the ECU. both should read pretty close to the same, so if you went from pin to pin, you'd see double the expected resistance.
