Default Electricity problems. SRS light on.

When I turned my volvo on, the service light would be on, and go away after about 30 seconds. About 3 or 4 days ago my check engine light came on and my srs light is on most of the time. when my srs light is on I get no power to my airconditioning, my radio, certain lights in my car, but the power windows work, and my head lights also work, any help on what it could be?

Check fuses on those circuits.

Check this for SRS codes and clearing:

And also, what year and type of Volvo is this?

First, make sure that your battery is OK, and that your charging system is doing its job--putting out about 13.5 volts at idle.

When I turn the car on and the SRS light is on, I can turn the ignition off and on and then the SRS light will go off and I will have all accessories working (radio, defroster etc)...however, accessories can sometimes fail and the SRS light come on while driving.

Any ideas?

You may have a bad ignition switch and/or a bad Circuit Board on the instrument pod.

Any suggestions as to how to troubleshoot without replacing both switch/circuit board?

Remove the negative battery terminal and reset everything?

That could be a start.

Then maybe check the SRS codes.

You could just have some bad ground connections.
