While driving my 89 740wagon on the highway at around 65mph the engine RPM's are around 2500. Its a non turbo sohc aith an automatic trans. Most of my other vehicles dont turn that high even at higher speeds. Could this be a correct reading?

 

that IS the correct reading... and i'd think your '82 datsun does at least that at 65mph...

 

The datsun at 65 runs around 2300 or so thats in 5th gear. My Camaro and my Sonoma ZR2 usually run a little under 2k at 65. I just thought that seems a little high but if its normal whay am I to question it. LOL

 

Man I wish I had a fifth gear, I'm doing 4,000 at 65 miles per hour.
