Default FAN cutting out when accelerating

Hello,

I've been having a problem with my 95 940. The fan cuts out when I accelerate. It happens when the heat is on and when the AC is on (although the AC is broken. See another post for that)

Any suggestions? I'm thinking it may be some short, but not sure.

Please help!

Bill

Try to located the hose under the hood that Feeds vaccum to the climate system. There is an inline valve that goes bad.

thanks,

Do you have a picture of where this is located? Why would it be running in normal conditions, but when the accelerator is pushed down it cuts out?

How much does this valve cost and how do i know if this is exactly the reason why it cutting out.

Thanks again,

Bill

The valve is located off the intake manifold. It is either Grey or Black and White.
It isn't all that much.
There is good vaccum at idle when you accelerate you loose engine vaccum.
When the system works normally there is vaccum in reserve.
When the valve doesn't work normally there isn't much vaccum in reserve.

You might also have a bad vaccum bellows in the dash.

Hello,

I found a pic to a similar engine online. Mine is not a turbo. Can you locate the vacuum valve on this pic?

The pic is a little to far away.
I edited the pic with an arrow around the area where it would be.

Ok, I called on some volvo dealers for a price on the vacuum valve. They said $240. Does this sound right? Are they thinking of another valve? Is the vacuum valve called anything else?

It should be $10.00 max.
It is a small valve.
