Fill the tank, car stalls...
Have a 1992 740 turbo wagon that stalls in extremely hot weather or right after you fill the fuel tank.
Just drops dead.
No power to anything.
No lights, no cranking, nothing.
Wait an hour, starts right up.
Computer has been changed twice by dealership.
No change.
Car runs extremely well otherwise, so basic maintenence is not an issue.
Ground issue?
Main relay?
Why after a fillup?
Faulty body harness effected by sudden extra weight?
Voodoo?
Check engine light not on.

The dog barks and the sun comes up in the morning.... I think the electrical part of your ignition switch is bad. Known to go bad....Turn key to on when problem occurs and see if you have 12v at coil.
Wojeepster could be right. For other possibilities, visit www.stepbystepvolvo.com for a diagnostic guide for 740/940 no-starts.
