Default Flame trap '89 240

Would an '89 240 DL have the "flame trap" I've heard about? If yes, where is it, how to clean? Thanks in advance. Dave

Yes it has a flame trap. Trace the pipe from the air cleaner to the crankcase and the flame trap is at the crankcase end of the pipe.

Clean it in Gunk or similar. If it is badly choked replace it.

throw it in carb cleaner but watch it to make sure you are not going to have a 'fizzy' Next time you are ordering parts it is just easier to replace flame trap and holder. (holder gets brittle and breaks) It is cheap from fpcgroton.com I have seen it cheap/expensive depending on who is selling it.
