flame trap location
Hey there,After some thought and reading a lot of helpful post on this forum,I decided to change the flame trap on my 1989 240 gl wagon, because of idling problems.I have never done this, but this how I learn. Can anyone tell me precisely where it is located?and are there any special procedures I should know about before jumping in?Thanks for any and all comments

RE: flame trap location
It is located between the 3rd and 4th runners on the intake manifold. The plastic holder is easy to break they are both available at very little cost from www.fpcgroton.com If you are having idling problems you might consider cleaning your IAC (idle air control). It is below the intake manifold towards the front. It has one electrcial connector and two hoses connected to it. I cleaned mine after 237k and it runs much better.

RE: flame trap location
Thanks guys!I found and replaced the flame trap.As you said, even being aware, the little connection nipple immediately broke off whilst trying to shove it into the hose[>:].So,I just cleaned the old one. Most of the holes were clogged with 'stuff'.Am not sure if it has made much difference,as I haven't driven it yet,but it has to help some.Next,I am going to tacke the IDLE AIR CONTROL.Will let you know how it goes. Thanks again
