I believe I'm having an issue with my flasher stalk. After recently replacing both flasher bulbs on my 1983 240GL, the turn signal stalk no longer activates the arrows on the dash or operates the lights. The hazard switch will still activate the flashers. I've scoured for the stalk but short of paying $200 I can't seem to find an alternative of any kind. any suggestions?

 

I have found a similar part for an 85 but the images on ebay seem like the wire connections are different.

before replacing, 1st you could try cleaning it with electrical contact spray cleaner.
