Default front and back left blinker light not working

Hi guys, i have a 91 240.

got an interesting question here. What would make the front and back left blinker stop working? It wont even come on on the dash. Ive checked the fuse and it seems to control all the blinker lights (at least the right side anyway), the right blinkers are fine.

Heres what happened: I jumped my friends car because she had a dead battery and thats when this started. I have looked at the bulbs and they're fine, even swapped and still no luck. Did i short something out when i jumped her car? All other electrical seems fine but no left blinkers on the front or back or on the dash.

any ideas?

i would say the switch on the column has gone bad. nothing else could do it.
as for the time of failure, its a coincidence. and i hate coincidences like that!!
