Fuel Filter Madness
I went to taclke the fuel pump today. First off, the part i ordered from Eeuroparts.com wasn't exactly correct. It was for a 940 turbo, and the bolt sizes fit, however in order fo rit to fit, i had to turn the filter backwards so the arrows were facing the rear of the car. Does the way even matter? Once i got that connected, turned it on to find that the O fitting that connects from the rear of the filter by the hose that goes to the front of the car, has rusted through so much that i have a pinsize hole now in that spraying out when the cars on. The old filter was rusted through and leaking as well, but now i need to find that fitting. Anyone have any idea where to find it? ive been looking everywhere.
It connects the hose that runs to the front of the car from the rear of the fuel pump and then the bolt feeds through it. Thanks!

Edit : I need to get the banjo bolt for it. Found out the name. Also once i get that part, how do i go about pulling that from the line itself and pushing it back in.
Also when i took the filter off the car, the rim on the end was facing the rear of the car. when i put the new one on, the only way it would work is for the arrows to face the rear of the car, which is the fuel flow to loop around. But why is it different than the OEM one that was on the car?

I'm not familiar with the 940 but my 240 had the same problem. The banjo bolt & connector on the output of the fuel filter started to leak. After I cleaned up the rust on it, I had a fine stream of gas coming out when I ran the pump.
To fix it, I had an old pump laying around that still had the banjo clamp plus about 4 inches of the hard plastic fuel line (I had just cut the line when I was salvaging the pump). I simply cut the leaking banjo connector off of my current line, spliced in the salvage piece using a length of fuel hose. I used double hose clamps on both ends just to be sure.
Good luck

yeah i got the part from Volvo stealer ship for about 120 bucks. Getting it put in on Wednesday to save myself some worrying and no room for error now. Only 10 days till my trip, i need to make sure everything running perfect, or as close to as possible.
FWIW, the banjo bolt gets removed or inserted into the hard plastic line by using a heat gun. Softens up the hose, end of the banjo goes in. As it cools, it shrink fits onto the banjo fitting.
