Default 1987 740 Gle fuel Problems

Hi to everyone, I'm new here. I own a 1987 Volvo 740 GLE
I'm having 2 problems at the moment.

1. Car not getting enough fuel, runs fine for awhile then acts like something is clogged tries to stay running but bucks sputters etc, have changed fuel filter-is there an easy way to determine if the problem is Fuel pump (Tank & External) Fuel pump relay, fuel injector pressure regulator?

2. Oil smells like gasoline, what causes this have tried looking online can't find any info.

Thank you for any help or advice you may have

funny you mention you searched but found nothing on the topic.
anyways, yeah the fuel rail pressure regulator may have failed allowing fuel to flow into the manifold. unplugg the vacuum line and check for fuel spilling out(while engine running) or smell for fuel in general. if either yields fuel, replace the regulator.

an easy way to check if it's a fuel problem? check the fuel pressure. if it's lower than 40PSI, there's your problem. you should be getting ~45PSI, but if it's lower than 40 the main pump is more than likely failed.

Also replace the air filter. Did wonders for my 1987 740T.
