Fuel Pump Relay Question!?!?

Default Fuel Pump Relay Question!?!?


Hello again,

ok so on the 82 242 turbo ive got, what color is the "trigger" wire on the fuel pump relay? by that i mean, i need to trigger it with the ignition but i dont know what wire to jump to...any ideas? thanks

There's a 2 plug connector going to your ECU underneath the driver's console. Just look up from the floor. I think the wires are grey with a red stripe. Unplug the connector and ground one of the connectors. Not on the ECU side but on the harness side. I can't remember exactly what wire does it, but you don't have to have the ignition on. In fact, it's a good idea to leave the key out of the ignition when you're doing this.

But to answer the question, I'm sure the trigger wires are gray with a red stripe.

got it!! its the white and red striped wire coming out of the relay, i just got down and dirty and tested all the leads and found thats the one haha thanks for the info though

No problem... Yeah white and red lol.

Well I can't be perfect, but I'm glad I helped at least a little

Like I said you should be able to ground one of them with the car off and your fuel pump should kick on. Not on the ecu side, on the harness side.

i think im going to try your way also, the way i have it rigged now isnt really the way i want it haha.
