Default fuse problem!

Hi there! I have an 85 240GL that I'm fixing up. I've run into a problem with fuse number 5. I was testing all the fuses with a meter and they all worked except number 5. I swapped it with a new one. I must have bumped it because on a second go through it stopped working. No juice.

Any ideas?

Whats the question?

Fuse 5, according to my wiring diagram, isn't even used on a 1985 240, except where they had daytime running lamps. on a US model it appears to be NC (not connected). the row of spadelugs next to that fuse would be empty in this case.

btw, I *highly* recommend getting a set of proper copper/brass ceramic 'euro' car fuses. the aluminum/tin ones sold in US car parts channels are garbage. you can find the brass/copper ones on ebay sold as 'Mercedes W123 / W124 fuses', a complete set for like $10 or $15 (actually, its enough to do 2-3 240's, those old benzes had a LOT of fuses in them... a MB W123 or W124 is a 80s/90s 300D,300E kind of car). I think FCP Euro and/or IPDusa might sell kits of these, too. older VW's used them too. clean the fuse box connector springs with a clean soft pink pencil eraser as you change each fuse.
