1993 940 non turbo

The car died like it was running out of gas and wont crank back.

Checked for spark and fuel but the car wont start.

PLEASE HELP! I need my car back on the road.

 

Did you check the fuel rail for pressure? If you have then check injectors for pulse. You can do this with a logic probe or use an inductive pickup timing light on one of the injector wires. If you have no fuel pressure have a look at the fuel pump relay, main fuel pump, in tank pre pump. Do you have less than 1/2 tank of gas? Look at in tank pre pump. If you have no injector pulse look at radio supression relay (it powers the injectors) Good luck, tell us what you find.

 

UPDATE : The timing belt is shreded and barley hanging on.
The morning it died I heard a slapping noise under the hood.
Must have jumped time because I can get it to run but barley.

I insalled the new belt and tensioner last night and it is as good as new!
