Headlight lens replacement 91 940SE
Sorry to ask such a mundane question, but what is the accepted way to pull the headlight assembly out of this car? I actually have a used lens out of a parts car which I pulled, literally out of the car, as in POPPED it out. There are some ball and socket joints which were QUITE stiff and I was afraid I was I was going to break them popping them loose but, nope. Is this really how this is supposed to be done? No manual as of yet, just a subscription to Mitchel online, which does not cover this. Thanx!

normally, you replace the reflector and adjustment assembly as one piece. trying to unsnap those ball sockets, there's a very good probability of breaking one or more of them.
the whole adjuster plate assembly is bolted to the sheet metal behind it, 3-4 nuts from the back. AFTER you've removed it from the car, you can try to separate the ball joints if you JUST have a reflector you want to replace.

The whole assembly does come out easily in one piece. Remove the corner light (clip from inside), there are two 10mm bolts on the extreme end. Remove the grill by unclipping it, and there will be two more 10mm bolts on the side and some more plastic pieces through which pass these longer bolts. These last ones are sort of adjustable as to the lights orientation.
