Looking to replace both lens. I have found a ton of 1999-2002 lens but no 2003. What is the difference in years ?

2003 went to the newer jewel style headlamp assembly. Currently you can not buy the lens as a separate item, unless you buy a used one from somebody. I just replaced my one last week due to a rock putting a hole in it. Cost was 205$ from Waltrip Volvo.

3M makes a product that you can "stick" to your lens that will keep debris from breaking the lens. I have used this product for 15+ years on several autos and can testify that it works perfectly. Several distributors sell this product custom made for your Volvo. I purchased my old c70 kit from "Auto clear Bra" who shows a phone number: 562 219 3248. I paid $44.95 for the kit.

Yeah, been meaning to install that 3M or Expel style film for awhile, but never got around to it. Just fairly far down on the to do list at the moment.

The Yellow 850 already has it but the white one needs it. I just had to buy a $75.00 lens due to a rock hitting it and breaking it. I am looking around because the expel is almost the same price as the lens and I wanted something a little cheaper.

On one of my autos I have CIBIE head lamps that are irreplaceable and so the 3M product has worked well. Now, contact ClearMask in Texas: 866 925 3276 for 'bulk' 3M film. I have purchased bulk film from them for stone chip purposes on my custom scooter. You can find all sorts of films that NASA uses and the costs are quite reasonable. You purchase the films by the foot and so you will find that the cost for Volvo headlamps are around 1/2 of the cost for the 'ready made' product. You will need a good pair of sissors. First you will make a paper template to your satisfaction and then simply place it on the film and sissor away................. I'll bet even Eater could do it.................

Thank you for your replys. I live in the country - very dark with twisty roads. Deer are my biggest threat. My lens are pited and a little clouded. Will a set of 1991-2002 fit without any mods ? Which HID system should I use ?

Reg I will check them out. I have not put the new lens on yet till I find the product to put on.

cb1313 the lens will fit but then the lighting will be different from one side to the other.
Try contacting this site and see if they can help you on the glass only.

HID's work best in projector housings, but you can still install them in the stock halogen housings. The older and newer Volvo headlight assembly mount the same with 3 10mm bolts. Drawback to using them is that you will have an unfocused light plus extreme glare to oncoming drivers. This would be a problem in town, but since you said you live in the country the traffic is probably light. The kit's come in pairs so if you want to do the lo and hi beams you will need 2 kits. Look online and see what kit you want to install. Sharphid is a good site to get more info.
