Default Headlights malfunction. 88 240dl

My headlights out of nowhere both went out on me at the same time the other night. I didn't think it was the bulbs but replaced them anyways. Nothing. Took out the headlight switch, didn't think it was that but replaced it anyways. Nothing. My high beams will still work if I hold the high beam lever back but can not click them on to stay on. I am somewhat lost at this point. I do not think it is an electrical problem because the fuse is still intact. Could it be though? I have referred to my chiltons and cannot really find much information about this. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

I would investigate the hi/low beam relay by the battery. Just a guess ...

do you have dash lights if not check the relay( K relay ) in the center shelf as it shuts the lights off when the ignition is turned off sometimes the contacts at it will meltdown at it

Either faulty relay or faulty light switch. Would also be good to clean upp the groundings.

Default bulb intetrity sensor might be the culprit

if the high beams work...I would think ....one of the two relays is bad since the turn signal sends power to the light fine....WAIT the high beam is that big silver on by the battery...next to the black plastic one...

relay by the fender or inside the car OR bulb integrity relay or sensor...the big red/yello/black circle under the steering wheel support member(?) with a dozen or so connections to it...it could be aluminum housing...

check all the fuses and relays before buying the Bulb Integrity sensor as it is around 60 to 78 bucks....

see pictures..yours should be red..
