HELP!!!! Car wont start
So i was leaving work on saturday, started up the car sat for a few sec put setbelt on etc.. , but her in D and drove about 20-30 feet aand the engine just shut off as if somebody turned the car off, radio remained on and all the lights on the dash were on just as if the key was in the run position.
So i crank her over and it turns over and over but no sputtering or signs of wanting to start
i pop the hood and start looking for culprits, everything smells, looks normal
i checked all the fuses and they were all fine
I check the cap and rotor, they're pretty well shot so i figure I'd replace them so i went and got a new cap and rotor put them on and that didnt fix the problem, pulled a pulg set it on the exhaust manifold and had a co worker crank the engine and the plug was sparking
my only conclusion was that it wasnt getting fuel, so i put the plug back in and cranked it over a few more times, pulled the plug and it had gas on it. so i am stumped as to why the car wont start.
i suspect the car isnt getting any fuel pressure, so on friday i am going to check the relay for the fuel pump,
PLEASE HELP ME OUT AND LIST ANY POSSIBLE CULPRITS FOR THIS PROBLEM,
this car is my only form of transportation since i took my camaro off the road for the winter about 3 weeks ago!
thank you all,
Jeff

RE: HELP!!!! Car wont start
well got her back , the guy replaced the timing belt in about 1.5 hours, this guy owns an automotive shop that only works on volvos and its about 6 miles from my house, so 1.5 hours and $200 later, my car is up and running!
I couldnt believe it only took him 1.5 hours, and only cost 200 bucks! this guy was great, i bet he's done hundreds of timing belts on these cars
thanks yall for the help!
